(IV) Analysis of Operations
Since the third quarter of 2026, the storage shortage and price hikes have continued to disrupt the consumer electronics industry. These
cost pressures have been passed on to end consumers, triggering a sharp year-on-year and quarter-on-quarter decline in sales volumes
for certain products amid higher selling prices. Shipments of small-to-medium-sized display products have come under notable pressure.
In addition, affected by capital market volatility, investment-related gains have also weighed on the quarterly results. The detailed
analysis is set out below:
For LCDs, data from consulting firms show that global shipments of small-to-medium-sized IT display products such as notebook
computers (NB) and tablet PCs (TPC) declined by more than double digits year-on-year in the third quarter, while shipments of NB
display products fell by approximately 20% quarter-on-quarter. Global shipments of large-to-medium-sized display products including
televisions (TV) and desktop monitors (MNT) posted modest drops year-on-year. Against the industry-wide backdrop of production-
to-order arrangements, LCD prices remained relatively stable, lending some support to the relevant businesses. Overall, the profitability
contribution from the Company’s small-to-medium-sized LCD segment declined to a certain extent in the third quarter, whereas that
from the large-to-medium-sized LCD segment stayed relatively steady. Going forward, the Company will continue to implement
production-to-order arrangements, seize opportunities for large-size migration and high-end upgrading, and accelerate the rollout of
signature technology upgrades including RGBX, UB Cell, Super Oxide and natural-light display to boost product value.
For flexible AMOLEDs, data from consulting firms indicate that amid a sharp drop in demand, shipments by domestic AMOLED
manufacturers fell by more than 20% year-on-year and around 10% quarter-on-quarter in the third quarter. Coupled with continuous
declines in product prices, the Company’s related business faced substantial operating pressure, which exerted a material adverse
impact on the Company’s overall performance. Going forward, the Company will continue to deepen technical cooperation and
customized development with brand customers, raise the shipment proportion of high-end products such as foldable panels and LTPO
panels to optimize its product mix, and proactively navigate industry headwinds.
In recent years, the Company has consistently focused on coordinated development across the industrial chain and strengthened
cooperation with industrial chain partners through various means including equity investments. Affected by volatility in the capital
market in the third quarter, investment-related gains within the Company’s exceptional items posted a substantial loss. Going forward,
the Company will adhere to its industrial investment philosophy, strengthen risk control, and respond to market fluctuations.
